Advice On Buying A New Watch
If you’re like most people, you’ll have owned at least one watch before. Even if you don’t currently wear one, at some point you’ll have no doubt owned a Timex, a Disney character watch or a beat up old watch that has been passed on to you from a relative. Maybe you were part of the Swatch craze that hit the 80s or maybe you got a freebie with a Happy Meal one time.
Whatever your experience with watches has been, one thing is certain – watches will never go out of fashion. Arguably, people don’t even need a watch these days, as they can easily find out the time from their cell phone, but cell phones have been around a while now and yet watches are as popular as ever.
Simply put, a watch has a style that cannot be replaced by a phone or other technological gizmo. A classy timepiece says more about a man than an electronic gadget. Granted, a woman will take a gander at a man’s feet to check out the shoes, but she will surely check out a man’s watch (or lack thereof) soon after. The clothes may make the man, but a watch certainly doesn’t hurt. The kind of watch a man wears makes a large statement about him.
Another reason watches are popular is that most men don’t get to wear much in the way of accessories. While women have numerous accessories (rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc.) to choose from, men only have a few choices. In fact, for most men, a watch is the only accessory that they would even consider. That makes it stand out even more, so it’s important that the watch you choose is a good one. If you’re looking to project an image of success, your choices are fairly straightforward, with Rolex watches and Tag Heuer watches being particular favorites. Wearing one of these is the equivalent of driving a Mercedes or a BMW, Audi. You won’t get any points for originality, but people will automatically assume that you’re doing well for yourself in life.
Buying quality may not be cheap, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Top of the line watch brands are fairly priced in that they last a lifetime and maintain their looks. Look online. It is not rare to find original models there that are discounted 30% or more from the street prices.
